Doing Life in Missions

Missions Ministry Statement
As a church we will dedicate at least 10% of our church tithes and gifts to reaching out in our community and around the world to minister to the needs of people in order to show the love of Christ and reveal His love to all.

Mission Verse
Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always to the very end of the age.”  Matthew 28:19-20

Our Mission Outreach
We direct our resources to a number of different outreach ministries. We also participate in various other mission service projects as opportunities are presented to our church family. Please pray for the leaders and missionaries involved in these ministries, along with your financial support we you are led by God to participate.

Christian Community Action (CCA) –  www.ccahelps.org
CCA’s mission in the spirit of Jesus Christ, is to minister to the poor by providing comprehensive services that alleviate suffering, bring hope and change lives.. When a family is hungry, tired and has no place to go, it is hard for them to help themselves. For more than 35 years, Christian Community Action has been feeding, sheltering, educating and training families in need within 42 communities throughout Collin, Dallas, Denton, Tarrant and Wise counties. In one year, CCA assists more than 12,000 individuals. They distribute more than $1.4 million of food and see more than 4,000 low-income patients in their health center each year. They have more than 1,660 people taking educational and vocational training programs at their facility annually. They provide more than 57,000 lunches to kids during the summer and provide 2,900 children with Christmas toys each holiday season. And, they provide meaningful volunteer opportunities to more than 2,500 people each year. Because of their managed care and Christian beliefs, we know that the gifts we send to CCA provide a more efficient method of reaching the needs of our community.

The group follows the teachings of Jesus regarding giving to the needy found in Matthew 6:1-4

Rock of Hope Ministries –  www.rohmro.org
Rock of Hope’s mission is to rekindle hope in the hearts of at-risk teenage Romanian girls by providing transitional living that is a safe and secure, family-centered environment where they can learn to love and be loved, gain the skills of daily living and receive vocational training. The girls in the transitional living program can volunteer at a small horse ranch where involvement with the staff and horses will build a strong work ethic, self-confidence, problem solving, and emotional strength thereby assisting them to make positive lifestyle choices. Please pray for Scott and Carolyn Pouncey as they serve as missionaries in this life changing effort.

Wycliffe Bible Translators –  www.wycliffe.org
Wycliffe was founded in 1942 by William Cameron Townsend. A missionary to the Cakchiquel Indians of Guatemala, Townsend caught the vision for translation when Cakchiquel-speaking men expressed their concern that the Bible was not available to them in the language they understood clearly. As a result, Townsend resolved that every man, woman and child should be able to read God’s Word in their own language. Since its inception, Wycliffe has made great progress in Bible translation all around the world. To date, they have played a part in completing more than 700 Scripture translations. Today about 209 million people do not have any Scripture in their language. Wycliffe’s vision is to see the Bible accessible to all people in the language they understand best. To make this vision a reality, Wycliffe also focuses on community development, literacy development and church partnerships. Please pray for Kent and Leila Schroeder, our missionaries in this effort that we support directly through Wycliffe.
